Experience the charm and character of the Scottish Highlands in one of our four Castle Rooms. Located across the first and second floors of the 15th- and 18th-century sections of the property, each room combines the comfort of a peaceful retreat with the unique history of our village and Castle.

Royal Dornoch — Named after the nearby Royal Dornoch Golf Club and its world-famous championship links course, this room invites you to sleep like royalty in a cosy four-poster bed. During the day, unwind beside the large windows and enjoy beautiful views of the Dornoch Firth and beach.

Terrace Room — Located on the first floor, this warm and homely room offers effortless access to the outdoors, with the guest terrace and colourful garden just steps away. A peaceful space to relax and soak in the character of the castle.

Struie — Named after Struie Hill, whose summit can be seen from the windows on a clear day. Rising 1,223 feet above the landscape of Easter Ross, the hill has witnessed ancient settlements, drovers, and generations of visitors drawn to its remarkable views. Located on the second floor, Struie features a more contemporary character, complemented by warm wooden furnishings that create an elegant and inviting retreat.

Cathedral View — Developed from part of the original Great Hall of the Palace, this room offers a delightful layout while retaining a distinct sense of the building’s rich history. The outline of the ancient grand fireplace can still be traced on the wall, adding a fascinating historic detail to this serene space. Its seating area looks out over views of the 13th-century Cathedral and picturesque village square.
