BOOKING CONDITIONS
Direct Bookings
On booking, a deposit of £75 per room is required to confirm a reservation. All deposits will be forfeited if cancelled within 28 days of the arrival date. Within 14 days of arrival, 50% of the total booking rate quoted will be charged. The rate quoted will be charged in full if a booking is cancelled within 7 days of arrival. Guests are advised to arrange travel insurance. All room prices include VAT.
Check In & Check Out
Check-in at the Dornoch Castle Hotel is from 2.30 pm.
Check-out is by 10:30 am.
Late check-outs can be arranged with at least 24 hours’ notice, and it is at our discretion.
Failure to check in on your scheduled arrival date (without advanced notice) will be treated as a cancellation and charged in full. Failure to check out by 10:30 am on the scheduled date of departure, without prior agreement, will incur an additional charge of £25.

Pets
All dogs are welcome in our bar and beer garden area.
Wifi
Guests may make use of Dornoch Castle’s complimentary wifi for reasonable and appropriate purposes, subject always to access and downloads being lawful, proportionate and not excessive.
Wifi passwords are available in the rooms and on check-in.

Gift Vouchers
Where to buy a Gift voucher.
You can request and buy a Dornoch Castle Hotel Gift voucher over the phone or in person. Gift vouchers are not refundable or redeemable for cash. Lost or stolen gift vouchers cannot be replaced.
How to use your Gift voucher.
Quote your voucher number when making a booking directly with us or online. Gift vouchers must be presented upon arrival. No photocopies or photographs will be accepted.
Special conditions.
Cancellation of a booking with less than 24 hours’ notice or non-attendance without notice will render the voucher null and void without further liability.
Vouchers must be used within 12 months of the date of purchase; after this period, the voucher will expire without the right to a refund.
We reserve the right to make reasonable changes to the terms and conditions relating to our vouchers and their use.
Pre-pay and Save
Please note that a non-refundable pre-payment of the full stay for each room will be charged to your credit card once the booking is made.
Property
All property in our guest rooms, including glassware where provided, remains property of the Dornoch Castle Hotel. If you would like to take something home, please contact our bar and reception team, who will advise you on the cost of glassware, bottles, posters and any other merchandise.
Unfortunately, if you do remove property without prior permission, we will charge you the cost of replacement.
Guests are politely asked to remain respectful to other guests, staff and property.

CANCELLATIONS POLICY
Accomodation
Your rights: When you make a booking with us, you are entitled to a full refund if a cancellation is made outwith 28 days of your scheduled arrival date. In the event of cancellation by you within 14 days of your scheduled arrival date or non-attendance, without notice, you will be charged 50% of the total booking rate. If a reservation is cancelled within 7 days of arrival, the total booking rate with be charged in full.
We reserve the right to exercise our discretion when considering the reasons for your cancellation.
If you are concerned about the likelihood of cancelling your reservation on short notice, you should contact us to discuss, and you should also consider taking out travel insurance.
Our right to cancel for your breach: We may cancel your reservation at any time with immediate effect by giving you written notice (which includes email) if:
You do not pay when you are required to do so; or
You break the contract between us in any way
Our right to cancel – events outside our control: We may also cancel your reservation if an event outside of our control (including industrial action, explosion, fire, flooding, and failure of power and/or water supplies, emergency evacuation or extreme weather warnings) means that we are unable to make your room available to you. In this case, we will contact you to let you know as soon as possible, and we will move your booking to an alternative date.
We will not be liable or responsible for any failure to perform, or delay in performance of, any of our obligations that is caused by an event outside of our control. This does not affect your statutory rights.
Dinner
Cancellation fees will be incurred in the event of a no-show or if a group cancels 1 day prior to their reservation. The fee is £20 per person.

The Contract
This contract is formed when we confirm your reservation is between you and us. No other person shall have any rights to enforce any of its terms, whether under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties Act) 1999 or otherwise.
Your Rights.
As one of our guests, you have certain rights under consumer protection legislation. Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to affect those rights.
Our Liability.
If we fail to comply with these terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking this contact or our failing to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if either it is obvious that it will happen or if, at the time the contract was made, both we and you knew it might happen, for example if you discussed it with us during the sale process.
We do not exclude or limit in any way our liability to you where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence of our employees, agents or subcontractors; for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; for breach of your legal rights in relation to the services, including the right to receive services which are as described and supplied with reasonable skill and care.
Where we are liable to you (save as prohibited by applicable law) our maximum liability to you whether in contract, tort (including negligence) or for breach of statutory duty shall in no event exceed the price of your reservation unless the Hotel Propriator’s Act 1956 applies, in which case our liability will be limited to the maximum prescribed under that Act.
